Gabriel SeherParticipant
Can you take a look at the USB route? it is slightly more technical but it is a very safe bet. The document is at the bottom of the software download page. Write me an email if you have any questions.
Cheers,
GabrielGabriel SeherParticipantOK – getting closer.
There are 2 versions of 1.60: the .27 (the one coming from v1.42) and the .32 release. They only differ in 2 very minor bug fixes. It appears however that .27 has trouble with 1.62.00 while 1.60.32 is fine. So far so good. Why the USB method would fail is still puzzling though..Post edited by: gseher, at: 2009/08/06 13:49
Gabriel SeherParticipantHave you checked out the current OS? It is in there in my opinion.
Cheers,
GabrielGabriel SeherParticipantDo you have the possibility to try another MIDI interface?
Gabriel SeherParticipantI think this would add to the interactive feel of working with the machine and increase workflow speed. Any more ideas along the same lines?
gabrielGabriel SeherParticipantExcellent input – thanks Matt!
Gabriel SeherParticipantThe current force-to-scale implementation is quite simple, you can imagine it as follows:
A note is checked for its belonging to the current scale.
If it is in the scale it is left alone and played.
Otherwise it is being "pitched" up until it belongs to the scale and then it is played.
Cheers, GabrielGabriel SeherParticipantThe request for align at 1 of the masterclock sounds more than valid to me.
The next question is – does anyone think that making ALN (align) generally work on the 1 of the masterclock, and not anymore as it works now will represent a loss?
GabrielGabriel SeherParticipantHi Matt, thanks again, and yes, please do put it all into a table if you get a chance.
I am evaluating this, and I have a feeling there is much fun to be had. I am getting also excellent input "ofline" (via email), and it seems there is quite some variation in the ideas about how this all should work..
Very exciting ideed!Gabriel SeherParticipantYes, this is about transposing sequences (tracks) and partially steps in realtime during performance. The requester of the feature brought up the name, I guess to help explain his point and it stuck..
Gabriel SeherParticipantOK – on the radar and to be fixed.
Gabriel SeherParticipantFixed in the next OS.
Gabriel SeherParticipantOne problem I see here is that you will in most cases alter the pitch of the bottom rows, but changing the pitch of the top rows will require a lot of fingers
Would it not be better to work with force to scale and have the keys influence the scale rather than the track pitches directly?Gabriel SeherParticipantOK – the step copy / paste is now in.
I like the multi-compress into one step idea as well, but it will have to wait a little..Gabriel SeherParticipantWe had experimented with this a while ago and while it is visually great, what you propose makes it hard to read out values, if that is what you need to do.
Any other opinions on this? I have always wondered how often values are actually read as numbers anyway.. -
