Keymasterstupid me problem solved;)

KeymasterHave you looked at the "speed" function in track mode? Double click the numbers to divide instead of multiply.

Keymasterok! "attribute map" is a new word for me, maby i have to read the manual some more..
one thing i miss with nemo is to run tracks slower then 16th:s.. like 8th:s or 4th:s.. it cant right? when 1 is 16th:s means that 0.5 would be 8th:s but this is not possible right?
i will try your discription for attribute map..
thanx!

Keymastereh..? i zoom in to a track by holding it`s track button and the trackmode button at the same time(from pagemode), and then MMC button and fix two red leds(for cc20) then of course i want every event of that track to control cc20 values(osc1 pitch to my evolver).. thoe it seems like every event can control diffrent CC#:S.. wich is amazing, but not what i want, this time:P
peace..

Keymaster:blink: now this is where i fail "but then you need to send the values from the appropriate steps that will make the actual MCC change.
Now take a step of your choice and modify its MCC value."
my two leds(cc20) is red. i push the first tracks first step to make a cc20 event.. and whips, it sounds like a new note..my evelover patch got some heavy modulation going on and a new note resets controllers, envelopes etc.. so it`s really easy to notice a new note..then i have to reset the patch to last saved.
so before i send the values for track1 steps, do i need to tell this steps(AMT/MMC/VALUE etc??)
a step to step guide on this would be really nice;)
peace out from sweden..

KeymasterMy Vampire also arrived today YAY! Thank you genoQs for such a wonderful device! And thanks to all of yall in this forum who greatly influenced my decision to obtain an Octopus!
I can not wait to get this project done at work so I can go home and add it to my studio…
I do some embedded development in my current job and also over the last 15 years, so I am very excited about this product. It already has an amazing set of features, but having the ability to "tinker" a little is awesome. I have been working on several DIY music controller devices and the Octopus has completely blown me away.
I am so excited! Also stunned at the serial # on my Vampire!!

KeymasterHello Peter,
What you describe sounds valid, but not complete

So what you need to do is first set the MCC value for the track (which is the valid part and which you have done), but then you need to send the values from the appropriate steps that will make the actual MCC change.
Now take a step of your choice and modify its MCC value. When that step is played, you should hear the MCC message being sent. Repeat the procedure as needed and let us know if it worked out.
Cheers,
Gabriel

KeymasterQuote:FWIW, I can’t get Live to see the incoming MIDI from the Octopus either.Key info here! This probably means that you have some kind of problem with midi on your laptop.
Does the name of your midi interface pop up in the relevant places in Live? (Like the box where you set midi channel on a midi track?)Also check that you have the newest driver.

KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for the response. Yesterday I wanted to prove the concept could work, so I set up the Octopus as a MIDI device in Reason 4 (master keyboard). I was hoping that I could just create a Thor synthesizer, program some notes, and have it start playing – just like it has done with my XS and Mopho.
But somehow the MIDI is not translating into note events into Reason, even though I see the Octopus is sending them.
Admittedly, I am just learning the unit – so I have limited work options to try to figure out a solution.
Ideally, my end state would look like this:
One to two pages on the octopus controlling different Redrum devices (for different drum sounds), and several other pages controlling various Synths in Reason. I think you can see the desire here? Bring my laptop and Octopus with me for live performance without having to lug my precious HW synths out with the until. I’m going for siimplicity.
I’m using an M-Audio Uno midi to USB from the Octopus to my MacBook Pro. FWIW, I can’t get Live to see the incoming MIDI from the Octopus either.
I must be missing something very basic – but I’m not a newbie at this either, so I thought I’d reach out to see if the community had done what I’m attempting as well.

KeymasterNo problem in that as such.
But we can only help if you describe the exact nature of your problem. (And I find that sometimes in describing such a problem, I find the answer myself
)gseher
Keymastersorry mmc i mean..hehe:sick:

Keymaster..and how about a global track mute mode per bank? If i’m running a page cluster with say 4 tracks of percussion, it would be nice -in some cases- if a track mute effects all pages in that cluster. I guess it would have to use the mute states of the current tracks when entering track live mode then override any individual settings for following clustered pages.

Keymastercorrection, absolute could be page+track+step value. I had another look at it yesterday and i do appreciate the offset, but sometimes when stuff gets layered on top of each other and i lose my way, i just want to know which note is playing!
gseher
KeymasterAbsolute value to me would be track+step value as Adam stated. A toggle (PIT led color in track mode?) between the functions would be great as i’m sure the advantages of your method will dawn on me as i get to know the machine better. Having these "absolute" values would make the earlier stages of composing easier for me.
