ParticipantHi,
yes I am sort of interested in this too! What is the latest "official" OS release now,
and what other "unofficial" releases are there? Thanks!

ParticipantOK, I followed all the procedures and to my delight, I’m back!
No problems for a sysadmin such as myself, I suppose.I can confirm that all my tracks and data appear to be present after the update.

ParticipantArgh! Why didn’t I read this thread before trying to upgrade my Octopus to 1.62?!!!!
Now I have to go through the business myself.
I am on a Mac – hopefully the zterm instructions will work for me…..
I will let you all know how I go….. :S

ParticipantIt may well depend on how the Mac is being connected via USB – direct from the machine,
through a hub, or on the keyboard/peripheral connections.I can’t drive certain gear on my Mac through one port while the others work fine, for example.
If you are not doing so already, connect your Mac via a direct USB port.

ParticipantOk, when I turn on my Octopus and it comes up in Page Mode (PAGE is flashing),
the default for the EDIT is green. If I press EDIT once, I get Orange flashing LED.
If I press it again, I get Green flashing LED.
Which one is Berlin mode? And then what other conditions must be set to get this to work?
It does not seem to work for me, no matter what "mode" I use the EDIT switch for.
So perhaps I am missing other values that need to be set somewhere as well?

ParticipantCan one of you walk me through the edit modes so I can work out which one is Berlin mode?
For example, I turn my Octopus on and I have a Page selected. What do I do next?
What settings do I need to make for an individual track or page?I do not seem to have this mode working even though I am on the latest firmware.

ParticipantI will ring you tomorrow (wednesday) and give you my email address!
Then I will try to have this setup for you as soon as I can. I have not been near my studio and
nothing is powered up the last few night :dry:If you are using Logic Express, my setup will not work – I am using 6.4.3 so it should transfer
to Logic 8 Ok…. What kind of MIDI interface are you using?rachel

ParticipantHi,
give me a day or so and I will pass you my Login environment, which you can then import
into Logic and use to connect to the Octopus – I am working funny hours this week and so am
not always available!rachel

ParticipantI’m greedy too. I see the Octopus as a master sequencer in a large setup, where you have
lots of sound sources you want to drive via MIDI more or less solely from the Octopus. The Nemo is a desktop size model of the same thing, but technically, it has less tracks/pages
so it is less powerful in that regard. I somehow always visualise the Nemo as something laptop
users go for, but that is not neccessarily so. I personally went for the Octopus because I am greedy
and because I could and mostly because it solves my music workflow, making it lots of fun!rachel
