Hi Wilson,
when working on the latest 14-bit tweaks for the new record modes, I tested this with bender messages from my Clavia G2x, and that worked fine. I’ll check again against the latest OS.
You’re saying you cannot record the bender messages. You mean you’re getting nothing al all?
For starters, when arming a track (without recording it), and and having the synth set to LOCAL OFF mode, does the bender info roundtrip correctly through the Octo back into your synth?
Do you have any other synth you can test this with?

Adam WilsonParticipantMaybe we could extend the Page Switch Mode feature, descriibed on page 72 of the Octo manual. What you guys want is a special version of ‘Immediate switching’. That could provide the UI needed to enable this.
Adam WilsonParticipantI think the old way is a no no. I agree it was easier to mute a range of steps using the old way, and we should find some way to have that again. But the way th MUT button was used in the old way simply conflicted with the track mute behavior. The old way to mute steps is simply bad.
Adam WilsonParticipantI see, a serious case.
I’ll try to get that tutorial written.Adam WilsonParticipantI’m still working on it, I’m afraid. Day job gets the best of me atm.
What exactly is it that you don’t get? Maybe I can help you here.

Well it is Halloween! Actually, I’d been intending to buy an Octopus for a while now, the Vampire just provided the catalyst![/quote]
Congrats!

As there’s no concept of track length, it can be quite laborious to keep making these changes by all those individual button presses – is there a shortcut?
CheersCouldn’t find one. Maybe it would be possible in a next OS release to have MUT work on a range of selected steps. That is, first select one or more steps, and then press MUT on its own. Not sure if it would conflict with anything, but it would fit nicely with the current step+MUT technique.

The old scheme (hold MUT, then press step) really wasn’t playing nice with track mute states, so we had to change it.
Adam WilsonParticipantThe order has been reversed in v1.6x. To mute a step you grab the step first, and then press MUT. It has been discussed elsewhere on the forum, IIRC.
Adam WilsonParticipantJust measured the depth of my Octo, and the total depth is 445mm, and that includes the control box, the thing that has all the connectors. With only 37cm of desk space, the shelve would have to be at least 125 mm high in order to get the Octo placed partly under that shelve. That is, I went 370 mm ‘down’ the side panel and measured the height at that place. Give or take a few mm.
Adam WilsonParticipantOmg, mutiny!

Adam WilsonParticipantGlad to hear you like the new features guys.
I’m working on a phrase power users guide, meant as an addendum to the manual.Adam WilsonParticipant -
