I have been puzzled about it too, but now I think I have an idea.. maybe.
When you zoom into a step to set the event, technically speaking you are looking at a step "position" filled with some step data, which corresponds to the step of course.
When the position event is active and the sequencer is running, the step data gets updated to the data of the step that moves into the position you are looking at. So that may be the cause of the trouble. In earlier OS versions the view would not follow the data but stick to the physical position.
That makes it seem like the step data is changing by itself, but what you are actually seeing is the step data set being swapped altogether.
What OS version are you on? With that info I can track for sure if this is the cause of the problem or not.
    Cheers,

Hello Gabriel, thanks for the answer.

(Poly aftertouch is not a big deal for me but since the Microwave has it I wanted to try it.)

    Cheers

Just wanted to react in this topic for a (almost the same) request.

Is it possible to have some high res pictures of the Octopus and Nemo posted so we can use them as a wallpaper on your computer.
There are some great pictures in the Nemo photobook…and i would love to use some of those on my laptop as a background…

I own a TI Snow for a couple of months now.
Can’t wait to combine this with my ordered Nemo and put it to good use.

    Hi Bo,
Octopus does channel aftertouch but no poly aftertouch. The chord model is just set up that way.

    Nice!

I will buy a "Tom Bihn Brain Bag" and the rest of the money will go for a couple of Nemo’s!

The company ("Symbolic…" whatever..) had their "computer" in "Finding Nemo" (so they say) and I will for sure buy one "Nemo" – from GenoQs that is.

    Anyway…thanks for the link!

"If I were a rich man…lalala lalaa a a" (quote from "Fiddler on the roof")

By the way, when do we have T-shirts (with a catchy punchline) for sale on GenoQs of our beloved instrument(s)?

    Peace!

I have the ploytech pedal. It works well.
I use it mostly to sync a V-Synth XT.
It has a merge so that you can put your keyboard signal through it and it will be merged with the clock generated from the pedal, you can tap half time or each beat, if you tap while it’s running it will either readapt slowly or immediately depending on a dip switch that you need to set up in advance (according to style).
    The batteries last forever.

Remember that you’ll most likely need to retrigger the sequencer more than once in a while.
That depends on the skills of the musicians, the structure, the number of them and obviously the music style, and whatever other considerations you may want to make .

I have used it with a couple of bands, where it was clear that the drummer had to listen a bit to what was going on, ie. have monitors mix properly set up make a little effort, it clearly worked best for me and we could do entire songs without too much rehersal.

I have used a it quite a few times it with another band as a guest and in semi-ethnic jams and I could blend it in but had to retrigger quite a bit. In the latter, I couldn’t get more than 6 bars straight unless I was leading.

Anyway long story short, it works, your mileage may vary, if you have any other question just ask. The only gripe I have is that sometime I would prefer tapping with hand rather than with foot (is sometimes more precise and more practical depending on your setup).

I had made a request once for tap tempo on the octopus, I don’t think it was considered a priority.

What you need to do is just skip steps. That shortens your track. If you need more steps to a track, use a track chain.
Adjusting LEN will make your notes in the track play shorter or longer.

Just in case anyone is wondering – there is no attribute map or MAP mode on Nemo. Only on Octopus. Nemo does not have the LED real estate for that and that is why it has the preset attribute flows, which on Octopus can be directly constructed in the MAP mode. Hope this helps sort some of the confusion.

For personal use I have a simple USB Lamp I picked up in an electronics store a while ago, branded HAMA. It is the one you see on some of the pictures.
