Thanks a lot !
Great videosgseherKeymasterHello
my wish :
More than 16 pages by song and many clusters together…
gseherKeymasterI thought that a pitch event with AMT=1 would create a chromatic transposition… but it seems I am wrong.. it seems quite unpredictable, at least for me. If I create for example a pitch event with AMT=1 with a pattern on C# I get the transpositions D D# E F G A C#… mmh.
Could someone please enlighten me…gseherKeymasterThe grid-track mode bug that I reported ages ago still has to fixed I believe – the issue with chained tracks not working properly in grid-track mode i.e. they are treated separately in grid-track so weird stuff happens when swapping between modes… I haven’t loaded 1.02 but as far as I know this hasn’t been fixed yet? Please don’t let it get left off the list!
gseherKeymasterOK, I emailed a link to the document. Feel free to modify as needed.
One thing I am having problems with… I update the OS, and it loads after I reset the first time, but if I reset again of power off, the octopus doesn’t seem to boot properly. No LEDS come on or anything. I can reload the OS again via RedBoot and it will boot again on first reset only.
Any ideas?
cheers
JKgseherKeymasterGabriel,
I just uploaded the octopus.elf file that I generated from my dev install and everything looks to be working fine!
I’ll finish a write-up for the setup and send it over to you. Thanks for the help
cheers
JKgseherKeymasterOk..I’m creating some tonight.
It’s on the project list.gseherKeymasterGabriel,
Is the elf file included in the HEAD of OCT_OS_1.00 source code a version 1.02 file? If so I am good to go.
Thanks

Quote:Hi there, currently you would have to do it in separate runs.
Best would probably be bank by bank + the GRID settings. However, watch for two more functions in the next release:
"dump all pages at once" and "dump everything at once".The latter is the one you are missing right now. Be warned that with a relatively full machine, the dump may take a while!
Gabriel
Does "Grid Dump" save MCH and PIT of the tracks (the level of MCH or PIT) ?
After sending GRID SYSex data from my pc to Octopus (and having changed PIT or MCH of a track), i can find saved parameters (a channel or a pitch by exemple).

gseherKeymasterI will be trying to upload the compiled elf tonight, I’m a bit concerned on whether it compiled successfully. I don’t suppose that the OCT_OS 1.02 could be made available as an elf file for download?
Also, I am rebuilding the dev environment and taking better notes so I can generate a document.
I’ll update after I try the compiled elf file if I don’t get too scared to try it
cheers
JKgseherKeymasterThanks Gabriel! I must admit that I wasn’t yet aware of the possibilities of "page repeat". Didn’t realise that my slower track will play on while page is repeating…
I think I have to work again and again through the manual to get it all in…
PietergseherKeymasterDUMP/ RECEIVE ALL DATA by Sysex of the Octopus
I would like to Dump/Receive by Sysex the GLOBAL state (All steps, All Pages, All Levels, All Parameters) from Octopus ?
(Grid is only for parameters, not for pages and steps)
Thanks
gseherKeymasterShort tutorial-like videos or a whole jaming session would be fun to see.
Depending on how much time you can spare for it.gseherKeymasterripe wrote:

JKThis is exactly what I have in mind.
Pieter
gseherKeymasterI can help with some, what do you have in mind?
cheers
