KeymasterHi Robert
Thanks for your contributions to 1.6.The above was a quite heavy read for me (so many modes of recording I did not know existed, haha).
Anyway, for those of you new to 1.6, I will have to say that it feels w-a-y simpler than it soundsB).
The info that I personally rely on regarding the rechanneling on 1.6 is:
1. In a page, hold track and push record. Now you are rechanneled to the track, but not recording.
2. Push record. Now you record.gseher
KeymasterAH – should have checked here sooner….this one worked just fine.

KeymasterHello everyone,
the bad news is that there appears to be indeed a problem with the update path 1.42->1.60. However, the good news is that I have just built a file which should take care of that. You can download it from the link below and use it instead of the already provided file.
http://genoqs.net/downloads/OCT_OS_v160_from_142.syx
Please use the above to update to OS 1.60 only from OS v1.42, as it may not work to update other OS versions. Sorry all for the inconvenience.
Gabriel

KeymasterI have read about people using white nail polish to dim leds. It can end up looking very uniform apparently…
although this was on one of those Livewire synth modules which have retina scarring blue leds.. only two leds

KeymasterWell there’s some great info on this thread, thanks everyone for taking the time to respond.
There’s a lot to take in here so first off I have a couple of simple questions.
1) Does slaving the Nemo to the midi clock of another device limit it’s functionality in any way?
2) Can you change pages with a cc or pgm change from another device?
3) How long does it take to export and reimport SYSEX for a single state? ( just a very rough figure would help)
4) How big is a single state once dumped to SYSEX? Does it depend on content or is it a fixed size?
Thanks!

Not a bad idea. Those big ugly ABS moulded Samsonite (and others) look quite durable (and cheap s/h).

KeymasterIndividual page load is about to make its way into Octopus.
For the rest, it really boils down to your style.
Both Nemo and Octopus are built with user interaction in mind.
If playback is your main concern you may not be at the right tool.gseher
KeymasterI vote for always on also…. Everything else sounds good…. thanks for the work…

KeymasterI would really like a tap tempo feature…
And it should not relate to the play, start, stop buttons…
I thknk the tempo button should do it.. and the tempo button GRID functionality should be switched…
just my 2pence…

You have to figure out the internal lining yourself though…

KeymasterIf you have read this thread: http://genoqs.net/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=50&func=view&id=866&catid=2
– you will know that many of us rely on hardware midi patchbays. I will not say that it is mandatory (also I don´t know in detail what you will try to accomplish) but by reading your questions, I get the feeling that you may be a candidate for getting one.
Remember that most people are moving (or have moved) away from midi, so a s/h midi patchbay should be dirtcheap. My friends Ensonic KMX-16 had been collecting dust for years, but now it has made a strong unexpected comeback in my studio! -
