Double, triple post….hmmm this is (perhaps) strange…Gabriel? I just "backed" in Internet Explorer, to get back to my first post/answer to Prime NL, being logged in, and suddenly the two previous posts were added! I did NOT click on "Submit" just rolled back the page….

Sorry for this… I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if it is the forum script???

Sorry IX for asking…what do you mean with "flakey on machine os updates"?
I’m not familiar to all english abbreviations – what is "flakey"?

    Cheers

Here’s one thing you can try if you have problem sending the ".elf" file:

    Hyper Terminal:
In the Transfer drop-menu choose "Send file". Choose the .elf file you want to uplod to Octopus.

In the "Protocol"-box make sure it says "Ymodem"´not "Zmodem" or "Zmodem xxxxx". The first attempt to upload the .elf file I had "Zmodem xxxxx" in the box and it did not work. The second time I read the manual again and I found out that one of the screendumps said "Ymodem"….
I changed to Ymodem in Hyper Termianl and voilá!
It helped me to bring back my dead Octopus to life.

I’m not sure about the differences between all modem protocols and imho I don’t care (I’m not a techie)… Choosing the "Ymodem" worked for me and I’m happy :-)

Hope this will help someone else!

One up! Save a tree (or two) and a lot of toner/ink!

I’ll chime in here… I just got done using the new OS for a bit and I agree that the EDIT modes need some reworking, having three states to move through is too much "thinking".

Having a modifier button to use when entering "berlin" EDIT mode would seem to work better, that way the mode doesn’t interfere with the workflow we have grown accustom to.

    Hello GenoQsians.

I don’t have any "thinking" issues with the three "modes/states" – a steady green LED, a blinking yellow LED and a blinking green LED ("Berlin")… I’m already used to it!

It is perhaps a question of how one use the Octo (Live/Studio)? I’m in my studio all the time… However I like the suggestion for a "modifier button" if that will make everybody happy!

No flames No offends – just a thought.

    Hello all!

From page 57 in the manual (1.62):

"EDIT PERFORM is actually similar to the EDIT state, with the exception that no MIDI data is transmitted when you operate on the matrix. This is particularly interesting for the Berlin School type of performances.

By default, in PAGE mode the EDIT LED button lights
green. Click on it once to toggle it to blinking orange, and
once more to make it blink green.

Again, when the EDIT LED lights steady green, everything
behaves as you know it: the step buttons toggle the step states. When
EDIT blinks orange you are in EDIT mode, and when EDIT blinks
green you are in EDIT PERFORM mode."

The EDIT PERFORM a.k.a. "Berlin School" = EDIT blinks green.

    Cheers
    Bo
