another aussie octopus user! welcome… i too am in melbourne – have had mine for a bit over 2 years… i guess yours would be the 2nd one to make it down here as far as i know 
i wouldn’t be using logic as the master clock – computer based clocks are awful… the octopus clock is brilliant – generally i sync everything to either the octopus or my mpc4000… but logic is the last thing i would sync to – part of the appeal of hardware sequencing is the superior clock and you’d be losing that if syncing to computer
